With less than 90 days left before we all have to vote, our Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg is doing what all politicians are right now: out campaigning to remind us just how nice they are and why we should vote for them.
I spent the day at centre of excellence Arts University Bournemouth as official photographer for his visit. He was there to announce a shift in funding and took in a tour of AUB and before taking interviews at neighbouring Bournemouth University. I used some time before the shoot to take some basic updates of the campus including an excellant exhibition "Landscapes of Exploration" (which runs until 19th February.) I enjoy working there immensely and I'd go so far as to say its even is as fun as studying there, I know because I did that too. There is something about campus that has a wonderful feeling about it every day of the year; its not just about their architecture, but also their ethos, their staff and of course, their strudents.
Their graduate employment rate is a staggering 97.7%, a fact they decided to celebrate by comissioning a glowing neon sign of the numbers '97.7%' for reception, which is a good enough reason to stand them all by it for a photo. Anyway, aside from showing how both education photography and event photography don't have to be boring, it will give you some idea of how interesting my job as a photographer is.
